Featuring:
Disney Discovery Cove SeaWorld Islands of Adventure
We got off to a great animal-theme start when we dropped off our dog 'Sniffles' at John's parent's house. Here Sniffles is looking to see how many more Egrets will land in the backyard.
Disney Then on to Disney. We checked in at the Coranado Springs Resort courtesy of some great internet deals we found out about in February (Linda's quite a smart shopper), that cut the room rates just about in half.
Then on to Disney's Animal Kingdom park.
Day 2
Emphasis: Animal Discovery Animal Kingdom
Later
that evening, what could be better than to tell of our Safari at the Adventurers
Club!
The Club Motto is "Some days you get the bear, some days the bare get you;
but always dress for the hunt". That's exactly what we did. Boy
did we get attention!
EPCOT (Day 2)
We had our digital images recorded in the Innoventions area of Future World.
We took some time to learn about the land in 'The Land' pavilion.
Christina is learning a bit about the 'Segway' peoplemover, a 2-wheeled device that can help reduce the traffic in larger cities and offer a non-polluting alternative to the car for short distance travel.

Dinner
at Norway, enjoying some delicious Scandinavian foods before calling it a night
Day 3 the Magic Kingdom
Day 4 Disney-MGM Studios.
Fun: The Adventurers Club- Pleasure Island
Discovery Cove: Emphasis: Animal Interaction- Swimming with Dolphins.
Discovery Cove is THE place to go to get the ultimate dolphin experience; a 1-on-1 interaction with a dolphin.
As
we entered, we were met by one of the other fun animals, the lesser
anteater. He'd make a great pet!
We
took a brief class on dolphins and their care before entering the water with our
trainer (pictured here). An
unforgettable experience. Swimming with 'Coral', a 20 month old Bottlenose
Dolphin. Most of the small group were hugging, kissing, petting and
getting dorsal fin rides from her. John got the chance to pick her up
almost out of the water.

Emphasis: Surf and Turf- Dolphins, Sea Lions and Clydesdales.
Our Discovery Cove adventure also enabled us to get to SeaWorld at no additional
cost. One of our first stops was a seal, sea lion and walrus show.
Just
before heading out to another theme park, John stopped in to see a dolphin and
whale show. Here a trainer is propelled 20+ feet in the air by a false
killer whale. Not having enough time with the dolphins, John went to their dolphin cove and
got up close with the critters at feeding time!
We
didn't even have to go far to see wildlife. John saw this Florida
softshell turtle just outside the hotel room!
Universal Studios Islands of Adventure Emphasis: Dinosaurs- Island's of Adventure is Universal's action-packed thrill ride theme park.
Our
favorite spot in the park was one devoted to the movie Jurassic Park. Here, across the
lake is the Jurassic pack visitors center where you can see and do indoor
things, but time for that later . . .
Linda parks a Jeep out in from of a Jurassic Park remote station.
On the right she and Christina are checking on a Triceratops that needs a medical checkup.
Christina discovers a dinosaur that needs to be put back in its pen.
